The Turning Point

Last week, the world suffered a tremendous loss by the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He was a great man of God whose life was a testimony of what it’s like to live as a true follower of Christ.

Charlie didn’t just talk about Jesus—his life testified of it too. His actions and life decisions reflected what he preached. He fully embodied the values he believed in, and that is something I deeply admired about Him.

In this day and age, where living out our Christian values is viewed as outdated, ridiculous, or even radical, finding someone who truly lives by them is rare. So much so, that Charlie lost his life because of it.

Speaking The Truth

The truth of the Word of God offends people. Nowadays, many churches preach what people want to hear—what makes the congregation feel good—in order to fill out auditoriums. So many have stopped confronting sin with love, which is what changes the hearts and lives of people.

Charlie debated people doing exactly that. He didn’t say what people wanted to hear. He defended the truth of the Word of God, even if he was hated by the audience.

Christianity is meant to confront our lives and beliefs to the core. It’s supposed to set us free from the bondage of sin that holds our lives captive so that we can live in the fullness of God's love and redemption. It’s supposed to heal, deliver, and restore us from the inside out to live a life of purpose for the Kingdom.

Charlie lived his life as a true Christian. I’m not saying he was perfect —none of us are perfect. But I deeply admired the way he walked with God and led others. He didn’t use religion to gain fame, power, influence, or money like so many do. He gained those things because he first loved God and sought the Kingdom. Everything else was added unto him because he was a good and faithful servant (Matthew 6:33).

Biblical Manhood

In a world where many men fear commitment and hesitate to start a family, Charlie boldly encouraged both through his words and his example. While countless young men chase money and personal pleasure, Charlie emphasized the deeper fulfillment that comes from providing for a wife and children. He believed that the joy and purpose of family far outweigh any fleeting pleasure the world can offer.

He was also known as an exemplary patriot—someone who deeply loved his country and did everything he could to fight for its future and the values upon which it was founded.

Charlie spoke the truth without compromise. He wasn’t swayed by the world’s opinions or intimidated by opposition. He courageously obeyed God’s will for his life, regardless of what others thought. And that obedience took him far—further in 31 years than many go in a hundred lifetimes.

Charlie was a true leader, both to his peers and to the next generation. His life stood as a powerful example of what biblical masculinity can and should look like today.

His Life… An inspiration

I never had the pleasure of meeting Charlie Kirk, but his life played a significant role in shifting mine. I began following Charlie and Turning Point USA  back in 2017 or 2018, during a season when I felt stuck—living without meaning or purpose. Listening to him speak about Christianity and politics inspired me. It showed me that it was possible to walk boldly in our God-ordained calling right here on earth.

Seeing someone so young living fully for the Lord stirred something in me. His example propelled me to seek Jesus more intentionally—for clarity, for direction, and for the kind of purpose I saw so clearly in Charlie’s life. I realized that if someone like him, who genuinely loved and obeyed God, could impact millions around the world, then maybe I could too.

I often compare Charlie to the servant in The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30). The master gave one servant five talents, and he faithfully multiplied them. Another was given one talent, but out of fear, he buried it in the ground. That was me. I saw myself as the fearful servant, paralyzed and playing it safe, scared of doing something wrong—yet even more afraid of standing before Jesus one day with nothing to show for the life He gave me.

Charlie’s life confronted me in the best way possible. It made me think deeply about how I was living, and it ignited a hunger to seek the Lord like never before.

Kingdom Marriage

Out of all of Charlie’s accomplishments, my favorite one is his love story.

Charlie’s marriage to Erika is a lasting inspiration to every single-person still waiting on God for a Kingdom marriage.

Their story reminds me not to settle for just anyone. It’s worth waiting for the one God has chosen—someone to build a family with, rooted in Christ. A marriage filled with love, peace, understanding, admiration, patience, and trust.

As I began seeking God for transformation in my own life, Jesus opened my eyes to the beauty of Kingdom marriage. I always knew about marriage in a general sense, but I hadn’t grasped the concept of what it meant for a marriage to be rooted in the Kingdom. Learning God’s heart, design, and purpose for marriage has been a powerful journey for me.

Because I haven’t had many close examples of what a Kingdom marriage looks like, I’ve always looked up to Charlie and Erika. To me, they embodied what it means to live out a biblical marriage. Charlie led his home with strength and love, modeling Christ’s sacrificial love for the church. Erika showed what it means to honor and support a husband, walking in loving submission as described in Ephesians 5:21–28.

Together, they painted a picture of partnership rooted in faith, humility, and mutual purpose.

They were also an example of how to raise children in the ways of the Lord. From the glimpses I’ve seen through their posts, it’s clear they were raising the next generation of Kingdom warriors—sons and daughters of impact who would love and serve the Lord.

Charlie and Erika have been, and will always be, role models for me. Their marriage inspires me to believe, pray, and prepare to one day build a family of my own—one anchored in Christ, just like theirs.

Taking Action

Charlie’s life touched countless others. I pray that his absence becomes a turning point—an invitation for the rest of us to live unashamedly and unapologetically for Jesus. Now is the time to be bold and courageous, unafraid of the darkness that surrounds us.

This is not the time to hide behind the appearance of religion or play church while pretending to be Christians. It’s time to be on fire for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, standing firm for truth and proclaiming the gospel no matter the opposition, no matter who may be offended along the way.

We were born for such a time as this… to be warriors in Christ. It’s time to step up and fight the good fight of the Kingdom, just like Charlie did. It’s time for us to rise to the call of God in our lives and be a voice for the Kingdom.

Mission complete, Charlie Kirk.
May you rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.

Much Love,

Jackie
